Borkumer Stadtwerke has submitted a tender on the tender platform “Subreport” a call for tenders entitled “Preparation of a transformation plan to supply the city of Borkum with renewable energies” published.
The aim is to demonstrate, on the basis of a concrete transformation plan and the subsequent specialist planning (performance phases 2 to 4), how the island's three existing heating networks can be decarbonised, interconnected and expanded through the use of renewable energies can be – with the aim of covering a large part of the city emission-free with heat to supply.
The focus is on the use of deep heat as a central renewable energy source. The measure runs parallel to the current municipal heat planning of the city of Borkum and should actively complement these.
In addition, the tender also includes the Technical planning for the first package of network expansion measures This planning is a prerequisite for the Application for investment cost funding according to Module 2 and represents an important step for the concrete expansion of the existing heating network.
