Borkum has many faces – and this diversity is showcased in the new holiday magazine, available now at the tourist information office and online at www.borkum.de/merchandising/#/shop . After months of intensive preparation, the publication takes guests on a journey across the island.
The 100-page book focuses on topics that shape Borkum: Thalassotherapy as a healing power from the sea, living traditions and cultural engagement – for example, around the 450th anniversary of the Old Lighthouse.
The magazine introduces young people who, as the new generation on Borkum, are taking on responsibility and actively shaping the island. Reports on nature experiences, the opening of the new waterworks, and culinary highlights round out the diverse range of topics.
“We wanted to create a publication that inspires and invites readers to discover the island from new perspectives,” explains Tourism Director Pia Hosemann. Axel Held and Raphael Warnecke, Managing Directors of Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH, add: “With this holiday magazine, we are providing our guests with high-quality guidance while simultaneously telling the stories that make Borkum so special.”
The magazine costs €4,50. The plan is to publish a new issue every year.
