Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH provides a website for Borkum companies

"Borkum Marketplace" on www.borkum.de

Being able to make sales despite closures is an important idea for all companies, especially at this time, including in Borkum. Some Borkum companies already offer their guests their own online shops, others allow individual items to be sold via their general company website or Facebook page and contact by email or telephone. The selected items are put together on site, packaged and shipped.

The NBG invites all Borkum companies to present themselves free of charge on the newly created "Borkum Marketplace" on the website www.borkum.de and to use the reach of the page, which is regularly visited by Borkum guests.

All companies that already have their own online shop that can be linked by name can take part. In addition, companies with their own website or Facebook page display individual items that can be ordered by contacting us by email or telephone. This means that participation is not just limited to other online shops and expands the possible circle of providers and their products that can be sent to customers' homes. The company is responsible for the topicality and functionality of the pages as well as for the sales process and therefore independently controls what can be sold and when as required. The NBG creates its own page “Borkum Marketplace” as a virtual shop-in-shop platform as part of the “Shop” menu item, creates appropriate categories and links to the respective page of the Borkum company. The categorization makes it easier for interested buyers to find the product that suits them and also encourages them to browse additional categories. Up to three photos are displayed per company, for example the company logo and two products as well as the contact details provided and the link to the company URL (website, Facebook page or online shop).

Anyone interested in using this platform to showcase their business and increase its visibility should contact us by email at kommunikation@borkum.de . An online registration form, including a logo, photos, a short description, and contact information, is currently being prepared and will be sent as a link to interested parties. "The goal is to quickly populate the new page with content and thus support local retailers, especially during periods when there are no tourists," says Göran Sell, Managing Director of NBG. "The visitor numbers on our website and the interest our guests have shown in Borkum's social media posts, particularly during times when travel to Borkum is not possible, reinforce our commitment to creating added value for both Borkum's visitors and businesses with this offering." Daniela Kastrau, Head of Marketing and Communications, adds: “As soon as around 10 companies are listed, we will promote the launch of the ‘Borkum Marketplace’ page with a social media campaign on Facebook and Instagram, linking directly to it and thus leveraging the activity of our Borkum fans and our reach. We are also planning to include it as a topic with a link in our upcoming digital newsletter.” The presentation of the virtual marketplace on www.borkum.de is planned for the long term.
