Renovation work on the access road to the North Bath

Restrictions from January 5, 2026 | 22 December 2025

The access path to the Nordbad (North Bath) at staircase 9, near the Hotel Hohenzollern, will be temporarily closed from Monday, January 5, 2026, due to renovation work. The closure is scheduled to last approximately 14 days.

The work is being carried out in close cooperation between the Waterways and Shipping Authority (WSA) and Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH. As part of the renovation, the existing concrete slabs are being replaced and renewed to ensure the long-term safety and structural integrity of the facility.

In addition to the direct access route to the beach, there will also be restrictions on the upper promenade. The affected section is between the Oppermannspad/Kaapdeele parking lot and Jann-Berghaus-Straße. A complete closure of this area is not planned, but temporary disruptions are possible.

The North Sea Spa Borkum GmbH asks for the understanding of both locals and visitors regarding the necessary work. Appropriate detour signs and directions will be posted on site.
