Many of the Borkum guests are “repeat offenders” who have been spending their holidays on the largest East Frisian island for many decades. Now, every first Wednesday of the month, the NBG would like to thank guests who have been coming to Borkum for at least 25 years for their loyalty in a small tea party on the Kulturinsel. “We at Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH are very pleased that our regular guests feel so comfortable on the island that they have been coming to us for a quarter of a century or even longer. “It’s time to say ‘thank you’,” says deputy tourism director Pia Hosemann, explaining the revival.
To qualify for the award, guests must have been loyal to the island for at least 25 years. The number of visits is irrelevant; what matters are the consecutive years. Awards are then presented every five years. For more information about the process, guests, landlords, relatives, or friends can contact the Tourist Information Office at +49 4922 933-0 or info@borkum.de.
