From July onwards, there will be a new contact person for beach chairs and kiosks at the nudist beach. Marten Steemann will take over the rentals after successfully applying for the beach area tendered by Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH.

The Borkum resident is already working on a long-term expansion of his offerings. Four mobile saunas for two to four people are planned. The first two are slated to be built in the dunes this winter, with two more to follow in the beach area during the summer. If demand is high, more will be added. The saunas will be constructed of wood and painted in natural colors, inspired by the design of the traditional Borkum bathing carts. Marten Steemann intends to carry out much of the work on the saunas and other facilities himself.

“I had the idea in my head for some time. When the call for proposals was published, I seized the opportunity and applied,” explains Marten Steemann.
