On Saturday, July 2nd, the Groningen and Drenthe Music Association (MGD), in cooperation with Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH, is organizing its fifth annual music festival on Borkum . Around 500 musicians will travel from Eemshaven to the cultural island, where they will showcase their talent to a jury starting at 10:00 AM. With a blend of outdoor performance, festival atmosphere, and competition, the stage is set for an entertaining day.
A total of 15 brass bands and orchestras compete against each other in 15 to 20 minute performances on the culture island. An expert jury evaluates the respective performances and ultimately chooses a winner. There will also be an audience award for the best outdoor performance in front of the Kulturinsel. “After a two-year forced break due to the corona pandemic, we are now looking forward to welcoming all Borkum residents and guests to the fifth anniversary. The march of 500 participants from the train station to the culture island is sure to be impressive. We look forward to hosting this day again,” said NBG event manager Thorben Stalke.
Admission is free for all spectators.
