For the die-hard and those who want to do something for their health, the Gezeitenland ~ Water and Wellness in cooperation with the DLRG Borkum offers joint winter bathing. On three dates on Saturday, February 15th and March 1st and 15th at 11.30 a.m. you can plunge into the cold North Sea waters under professional guidance. The participation fee of €10 includes a bathrobe, a hot drink and of course the warm shower afterwards. Participation is free for guests who have booked sauna entry.

Immersing yourself in ice-cold water during the cold season has gained more and more fans in recent years. Not only does it provide a unique experience, but it also has numerous positive effects on the body and mind. There are also many health benefits, such as improved circulation, faster muscle regeneration and a strengthened immune system. Bathing in cold water is also often used to strengthen resistance. Overcoming the cold can also promote our mental strength. When you immerse yourself in the cold water, the skin vessels contract to maintain body temperature and the blood centralizes in the core of the body. When you get out of the cool water, the vessels expand again and blood circulation increases. This leads to a pleasantly warm feeling.

For anyone who is curious: just try it out, ideally accompanied by experienced winter bathers. Important: winter bathing is not a competition. The focus is on the positive physical effect.

Anyone interested can purchase a ticket in the experience shop at www.borkum.de/shops or by Gezeitenland magazine.
