July 14, 2022 marked the first anniversary of last summer's flood disaster. The Ahr Valley was hit particularly hard and the consequences of the devastating catastrophe can still be seen today. Last week, Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH (NBG) organized a football talk with Ingo Anderbrügge with former football commentator Werner Hansch in the Kulturinsel and TuS Borkum eV, in cooperation with NBG, organized the Ruhrpotthelden charity game against the 1st men of TuS Borkum. Also on site were the DRK KV Ahrweiler eV with an information stand and the Lions Club Borkum Bant Fabria with a coffee and cake stand.
From the ticket and merchandise sales of everyone involved in the two events, plus the pro-rata income of €700,00 from previous games in 2022 by TuS Borkum for the benefit of the Ahrtal, a sum of €6.218,36 was raised, 100 percent of which will be presented to the DRK KV Ahrweiler eV .
Providing help is a matter of course for the former professional footballer and owner of Anderbrügge Sportkonzept GmbH, Ingo Anderbrügge: “With my football factory and our Ruhrpotthelden we support various social projects and have accompanied the Ahrtal-Hilfe from the beginning, so it was immediately clear to us to help the Ahr Valley as much as we can this year. We are very pleased that we raised such a nice sum with two football-related events,” said Anderbrügge.”
“We would like to thank all supporters, the TuS Borkum, the AG EMS, the Borkum Kleinbahn and the Lions Club Borkum Bant Fabria, for allowing us to donate this amount,” says Hanna Münzel, from the events department of Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH. Torsten Müller, first chairman of TuS Borkum, is also pleased about the success of the campaigns: “The games against the Ruhrpotthelden have been a crowd puller in previous years, our sports field was well filled. We are particularly pleased that we were able to do something good.”
The symbolic check presentation will take place on Wednesday, July 20th, at 17.30:XNUMX p.m. at the TuS Borkum eV sports and youth guesthouse.
