The BEACH DAYS BORKUM were “a dream”

Four days of beach life with concerts, beach parties and beach volleyball

From August 03rd to 06th, 2023, the mood on the largest East Frisian island was simmering. Over four days, the BEACH DAYS BORKUM powered by Stadtwerke Borkum featured a varied program with live concerts by BOSSE and BOWIE, beach parties, a national beach volleyball tournament, sports to participate in and children's entertainment.

Right at the start on Thursday evening, the silent discos invited people to dance in the sand. First, the younger guests got their money's worth at the children's disco, before the adults took over the headphones and had the choice between three DJs and genres of music.

BOSSE provided the atmospheric climax and the “most beautiful time” of BEACH DAYS BORKUM with his two-hour concert on Friday evening. A special highlight was the double appearance together with the Borkum choir “De Fielapper” (the butterflies). The choir was founded specifically for this evening following a social media call from BOSSE and performed “A Dream” with him. The choir consists of 19 islanders between the ages of 25 and 35. Beforehand, BOSSE took a lot of time for a meet and greet with the fans directly at the large open-air stage. At the start of the concert evening, BOWIE, who is also a background singer for BOSSE, thrilled the audience with her solo performance in the arena.

Despite the bad weather forecast, the visitors celebrated until late Saturday night at the big ffn beach party on the North Sea beach. ffn presenter and DJ Ruven Rintelmann set the right dance rhythm and animated the party guests.

The BEACH DAYS BORKUM powered by Stadtwerke Borkum concluded with the final day of the three-day ROCK the BEACH tournament. Throughout the entire time, the spectators ensured that the stands at Center Court were full and the atmosphere was great right up until the award ceremony. The final song “Ein Traum” couldn’t be more fitting. 16 women's and men's teams played for three days for a total prize money of 10.000 euros, important qualification points for the German championships and podium places. The ROCK the BEACH titles 2023 went to Anna Behlen/Sarah Schulz (1st Beachclub Kiel/DJK TuSa 06 Düsseldorf) and the Wüst brothers Lui and Mio (VCO Berlin/Hauptstadt Beacher). The finals and all other matches on the Center Court were streamed live with a 6-camera production and can be viewed as re-lives at any time on Sportdeutschenland.tv.

The beach village with food and drinks stalls also invited people to linger during the day and anyone interested in sports could get active themselves on the many beach volleyball courts and on the SportStrand. There was also a lot to experience for the children. From Thursday to Sunday, the sports vehicle with various sports and play equipment was on site and on Friday and Saturday there were fascinating bubble shows and face painting for children.

In order to make the BEACH DAYS BORKUM an unforgettable weekend for the fourth time, there was wonderful cooperation between everyone involved, from the setup through the four program days and up to the dismantling. These included, among others: the employees of the stage construction, the stage technology, the stands, the restaurateurs, the entire sports organization, the organizing agency SPORTPLATZ GmbH, the Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH with all its trades and many other helpers.
