The Nordsee Aquarium Borkum invites you to World Oceans Day on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 17 p.m. This international day of action draws global attention to the beauty of the oceans and their increasing endangerment. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the fascinating underwater world of the North Sea and the Wadden Sea National Park.
Together with Greenpeace eV East Frisia and the Friends Association Nordsee Aquarium Borkum eV has prepared a diverse program for the whole family at the aquarium. At the Greenpeace stand, there will be information about protecting the oceans, as well as films on current environmental issues. Children can get creative with ocean-themed crafts and explore the aquarium in a scavenger hunt. A search game for animals awaits younger visitors.
In addition, there is a whale competition, a beach treasure hunt to take away, and sea creature cookies for a quick snack.
"World Oceans Day offers the opportunity to convey knowledge about our oceans in a vivid way and at the same time raise awareness for their protection," says Claudia Thorenmeier from Nordsee Aquarium.
Entry costs only 2,00 euros on this day.
