The agenda included, among other things, the resolution of the 2021 economic plan and the approval of the conclusion of long-term lease agreements for the construction and operation of a water and beach sports school as well as for the construction and operation of two milk stalls.

Economic plan 2021

The supervisory board of Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH approves the 2021 economic plan presented. Expected restrictions in revenue generation from the tourism sector as well as from sales of municipal utility products at least in the 1st quarter, necessary implementation measures for maintenance work that was not carried out or postponed in 2020 and the processing of strategic projects for the opening of the season mean that a positive company result is also taken into account a possible stable summer and a continued increase in domestic tourism as well as short-time work allowance does not seem realistic without further help. However, these cannot currently be planned with certainty for the NBG as a public company. Against this background, the adopted economic plan for 2021 assumes a result of -1,13 million euros.

Area for water and beach sports base

Of the three originally submitted expressions of interest for the publicly advertised area, which has been managed by the Brenda Vogel surf school in recent years, only the offer from the bidding consortium of the two Borkum residents Jörn Donat and Wilke Brinkmann with their concept “ÖY” was available at the offer deadline. The supervisory board followed the recommendation of the selection committee to agree to the conclusion of a contract with the above-mentioned bidding consortium to set up and operate a water and beach sports school with a term of 10 years plus an option to extend it by 5 years.

Milk stall location in an extension of Bismarckstrasse

The current operator of “Hinni's Strandoase”, Markus Wilken, submitted an offer in response to the limited tender for the milk stall location, in which five potential bidders were invited to take part in the competition. There were no further offers. The Supervisory Board followed the recommendation of the selection committee to agree to the conclusion of a contract for the construction and operation of a milk stall at the named location from the 2022 season with a term of ten years.

Milk stall location on the south beach

The current operator of “Mathilde's Melkbudje” on the southern beach, Manfred Okken, submitted an offer in response to the limited tender for this milk stall location (currently unoccupied), in which five potential bidders were also invited to take part in the competition. There were no further offers. Here too, the supervisory board followed the recommendation of the selection committee to agree to the conclusion of a contract for the construction and operation of a milk stall at the named location from the 2022 season with a term of ten years.

The basis for all offer assessments by the selection committee was the written application and a presentation by the three applicants for the three locations to the committee on December 03rd. The selection committee consisted of seven Supervisory Board members in accordance with the proportional representation of the Management Committee and five NBG employees in accordance with the procedurally relevant expertise.
