The previous Corona rapid test center in cooperation with the city, Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH and Dr. Meyer has been very well received since it opened and will continue to exist. “Get tested, be safe” remains the focus for Borkumer and everyone who is on the island. The island will open to tourism from May 10, 2021, although initially only for guests residing in Lower Saxony. A journey to Borkum requires a negative test result that is not older than 24 hours. Those who have been fully vaccinated and recovered do not have to submit a test result, but rather appropriate documentation. According to the Lower Saxony Corona Ordinance, access to outdoor catering, retail, other facilities and accommodation is only permitted with a negative test result, unless full vaccination or recovery can be proven.
Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH is expanding the test offering on the Kulturinsel accordingly and, in cooperation with the companies TZB medical GmbH & eden GmbH, is offering additional free testing capacities from May 13, 2021 in accordance with the federal test regulation (TESTV) and the current regulation of the state of Lower Saxony.
The new test center opens its doors on the 1st floor of the Kulturinsel and can be reached via the stairs at the reading room (rear entrance to the Kulturinsel). Opening hours are daily from 08.00 a.m. to 18.00 p.m. An online appointment is expected to be available from May 12, 2021 www.schnelltest-borkum.de possible. An online appointment is a prerequisite; an app installation is not necessary. With the registration confirmation of the desired date, a QR code will be sent, which enables contactless check-in on site. Medically trained staff carry out the tests using rapid corona antigen tests approved by the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices. The test result is sent to the person tested as a digital certificate via email within 30 minutes.
For those who do not have internet access, testing is available on the ground floor at Dr. Meyer, as you can still be tested here without registering online. Opening hours vary and are Monday to Saturday from 09.00:10.30 a.m. to 17.30:19.30 a.m. and 17.30:19.00 p.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. and Sundays from XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. The entrance to this test area can be found via the rear entrance of the Kulturinsel on the ground floor. If you need a barrier-free route, please also use this testing area.
“To honor the excellent work of Dr. “In order to be able to support Meyer and his team and adapt the testing capacities on the island to the growing number of guests, this expanded offer is essential,” says Göran Sell, Managing Director of Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH. “We are pleased to have gained experienced partners for the additional and now digitally supported test center with the team around Lukas Bock and Alexander Wolf, who would like to contribute their technical expertise to Borkum. With this test center, up to 3.000 rapid tests are possible every day.”
TZB medical GmbH & eden GmbH currently operate 4 test centers on the mainland. The team from TZB medical GmbH forms the basis with around 10 people and relies on supporting test helpers from the island who can, for example, be hired as 450 euro workers. “We offer three different positions. Those of the testers after medical instructions, reception staff and laboratory technicians,” says Lukas Bock. Interested test helpers please contact us by email sarah.meier@borkum.de
