Just in time for the New Year, Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH has come up with a special offer for all guests and Borkum residents. From December 29, 2024 to February 09, 2025, all ice skating enthusiasts can do their laps on a 200 square meter "Skövelbahn" (High German: ice skating rink) on the tennis island. There will also be a curling rink that promises fun for families, groups and company parties. As a special highlight, "Disco-Sköveln" takes place every two weeks on Saturdays.
The scheduled opening times are designed so that young and old alike can make good use of the rink. Monday to Friday the rink is open from 14:30 p.m. to 18:00 p.m., and on weekends from 11:00 a.m. to 17:00 p.m. On New Year's Eve, December 31st, the ice rink invites you to glide a few laps before the turn of the year from 11:00 a.m. to 16:00 p.m. On New Year's Day, January 1st, 2025, visitors can enjoy the first day of the year on the rink from 12:00 p.m. to 18:00 p.m. In addition, the rink is open on February 3rd and 4th from 11:00 a.m. to 17:00 p.m. to mark the school year break.
Admission to the artificial ice rink is €3 for children (up to and including 12 years) and €5 for adults, with skate rental in sizes 28 to 46 for three hours already included in the price. Important: For safety reasons, you cannot bring your own skates, as the rink requires special skates. The curling rink can be booked for €25 per hour. Payment is made conveniently by debit card. If it's your birthday, you should definitely come along, as birthday children and two accompanying adults get free admission on their special day.
"We are pleased to be able to offer our guests an attractive package even in the winter months," says tourism director Pia Hosemann. "After a long walk on the beach, take a few laps on the 'Skövelbahn' or simply drink a mulled wine. A better winter day is almost impossible."
