The popular East Frisian island of Borkum is a proud partner of the first digital EWE North Sea Run. The traditional running event, which has been taking place on the East Frisian Islands and in the coastal towns for 20 years, is being relocated to the digital world due to the current restrictions. An absolute novelty!

From June 12th to June 20.06.2021th, 14, all motivated runners, walkers and Nordic walkers have the opportunity to compete as official ambassadors of the North Sea Run and the participating destinations using a completely new concept. During the booking process, a distinction can be made between day, stage and tour packages, with each runner selecting their personal favorite from 100 partner locations in advance. Equipped with an exclusive functional shirt, which is produced in a particularly sustainable manner from XNUMX% recycled polyester, the athletes compete on routes of their own choosing over five or ten kilometers and thus represent their commitment to their favorite holiday region.

You don't have to miss out on getting together outside of the races either. A digital web platform was set up specifically for non-sporting activities where the community can meet, chat and chat. The supporting program is peppered with exclusive highlights, such as training tips or interactive sessions. Each running day ends with an evening raffle, which invites you to take part with high-quality sponsor prizes and travel vouchers. This means that the character of the actual event on site is not lost.

Numerous running enthusiasts from all over Germany have already registered. Last but not least, to cover your kilometers for a good cause: As part of the event, donations are automatically collected, which are donated equally to the Niedersächsisches Wattenmeer National Park Association. V. and the church's campaign “Don't stop - run against violence” in the tourism of the Evangelical Lutheran Regional Church of Hanover. And the best thing: for every kilometer walked by the ambassadors of their respective favorite places, a corresponding amount is donated to a local institution.
