Playing football and simply doing good at the same time – that is a matter of honor for the “Ruhrpotthelden”. The association of former professional football players such as UEFA Cup winner Ingo Anderbrügge and DFB Cup finalist Jörg Lipinski, together with other football enthusiasts, kicks off a wide range of charity campaigns. “A great thing,” thought those responsible for TuS Borkum and Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH (NBG) and invited the Ruhrpotthelden to Borkum again after 2019. So it will be said again on Saturday, July 09th, 2022, against the men from TuS Borkum: The round has to go into the square - and for a good cause. The proceeds from the charity game will benefit the victims of the flood disaster in the Ahr Valley. The DRK Ahrweiler will also be on site.
Ruhrpotthelden play against TuS Borkum
“The disasters of the past two years have left us all perplexed and speechless. That's why it was natural for us to donate the proceeds from this friendly match to the aid organizations." So Ingo Anderbrügge, founder of the Ruhrpotthelden and managing director of Anderbrügge Sportkonzept GmbH. The first chairman Torsten Müller and managing director of TuS Borkum Hendrik Maisch agree with this. “We hope for a large number of spectators to see a nice game in, hopefully, the best football weather.” Admission to the Fritz-Klennert sports complex on Hindenburgstrasse is from 1:15 p.m. and the game will kick off at 00:16 p.m Accompanying Natt and Drög is provided by TuS Borkum eV and the Lions Club Borkum Bant Fabria. Afterwards the players will be available for autographs. “The two events make every football (nostalgic) heart beat faster. Watching Ingo Anderbrügge while Werner Hansch comments brings back memories. I’m particularly pleased that we’re doing something good,” says NBG managing director Göran Sell.
Football talk with Werner Hansch
A special highlight for all those interested and football romantics will take place on July 07th in the Kulturinsel. Former football commentator Werner Hansch and Ingo Anderbrügge come together for a football talk in the Great Hall of the Kulturinsel. While both sports icons chat about football in a relaxed atmosphere and the audience can ask questions, meatballs and beer are the accompanying delicacies. Afterwards, Ingo Anderbrügge will present his book “The Round Teaches Life” with an autograph session. It starts at 19.30 p.m.!
Tickets for both events are available www.borkum.de, in the tourist information office or on the day of the event at the box office and on the football field.
