A new internet application from Ostfriesische Insel GmbH supports restaurateurs, hoteliers and tourism service providers in directing visitors. This is intended to avoid rushes and overcrowding and to display free capacities.
The images from the first lockdown in the summer are probably still with many people: restaurants and cafés had fewer seats due to the Corona distance requirements and were therefore more likely to be fully booked, capacity restrictions in public tourism facilities like that Gezeitenland led to long queues at the checkouts and waiting times spoiled the holiday experience. Because of this, the NBG, together with representatives of the other islands, has developed a web app under the leadership of the Ostfriesische Insel GmbH that is intended to avoid such hotspots and can provide a remedy. Reservations for restaurant visits or sightseeing will be possible in digital bundles after a one-time registration. “The advantage is obvious,” confirms Göran Sell, managing director of Ostfriesische Insel GmbH and Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH. “Our guests can choose alternatives online at any time. Temporally or spatially. This results in a better distribution of guests on the island and disappointments are avoided.” The participating service providers receive a daily email about the current status of the reservations, and the guest receives a reminder. Lists can be exported to track infection chains and transmitted to health authorities.
If you are interested in using the reservation tool for your business or for further information, Marvin Nockel from the Tourist Information can be reached during normal office hours on 04922/933-0. Under https://reservierung.borkum.de/ A preview is possible, registration takes place at https://reservierung.borkum.de/registrierung/. The Ostfriesische Insel GmbH and the Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH are happy about every participating company in order to make the holiday experience for guests and service providers as pleasant as possible.
