Children's armbands provide greater safety on the beach

Free service helps parents find children | 27 May 2026

Anyone who spends a day at the beach with children knows the situation: one brief moment of inattention – and parents have lost sight of their offspring. To help families reunite more quickly in such situations, the German Lifesaving Association (DLRG) is now offering children's locator bracelets on Borkum.

The free wristbands with the Borkum logo are available directly at the DLRG (German Life Saving Association) lifeguard stations. Only a simple registration is required. If a child is found alone on the beach, the lifeguards can quickly identify the child using the wristband and inform the parents.

The wristbands are made of hypoallergenic, stretchable silicone and are comfortable to wear. They can be used not only on Borkum, but at all DLRG lifeguard stations on the North and Baltic Seas that participate in the system.

With this offer, the DLRG and Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH aim to help families enjoy their stay at the beach in a more relaxed manner.
